The Tyndale Monument The Tyndale Monument
This monument is a short 15 minute walk from the Inn. William Tyndale strongly believed that the Bible should be studied in English and that it should be understood by people in all ranks of society. Although he did much of his translation in England, it was while he was living in Antwerp (in what is today Belgium) that his translation of the Bible was finally published. As a memorial to Tyndale, a monument was completed on Nibley Knoll in 1866, and overlooks the village as it was thought that Hunts Court, in the village of North Nibley, was Tyndale's birthplace.
The Cotswold Way The Cotswold Way National Trail
The Cotswold Way National Trail passes the Inn. It is a long distance walking trail that runs between the city of Bath in the south and the town of Chipping Campden in the north, through 102(164 km) miles of butterfly-filled rolling grasslands and ancient beech woods and runs for most of its length on the Cotswold escarpment. It passes through many picturesque villages, vast miles of dry-stone walls and honey-stoned cottages, and close to a significant number of historic sites, for example the Roman heritage at Bath, the Neolithic burial chamber at Belas Knap, Sudeley Castle near Winchcombe, Hailes Abbey and many beautiful churches and historic houses.
The Victoria Jubilee clock Wotton-under-Edge
Just over 2 miles south east of North Nibley is the attractive market town of Wotton-under-Edge. It occupies a delightful spot under the edge, or at the foot of, the Cotswold escarpment.

Just 5 miles north west of North Nibley is Berkeley Castle. It has been continuously occupied by the same family since 1153 and has lent it's name to many places worldwide, including Berkeley in California and Berkeley Square in London. Berkeley Castle hosts many events including open air concerts and country shows. The castle itself is well worth a visit.
